Ky Garvey is a children's author and podcaster, and carer to her two sons who live with psychosocial disabilities. For 10 years Ky was a single mum, solely responsible for raising two teenage boys with Aspergers and ADHD, which has led her to become a passionate advocate for those living with a disability and for the unpaid carers who support them. Ky wants to support other mums of children and teens with disabilities, and empower kids to find their place in the world through her storytelling, advocacy and podcasting. In February 2023, Ky released her first children's picture book, Easy Peasy, through publisher EK Books, a story all about having a go at something new, and turning trials into triumphs. Ky has won awards for her writing, including being named on the CYA Writers and Illustrators Success Wall in 2021, winning the Carers QLD writing competition in 2018 and placing 3rd in the Grieve Writing Competition in 2017 hosted by Hunters Writers Centre.

Ky is also the host of 'Totally Lit', a literary podcast which celebrates reading, writing and creating books and literature, and co-hosts 'Mother of a Podcast' - a podcast for neurodiverse mothers of neurodiverse children. Ky lives in Brisbane with her husband, two sons, two cats and her cavoodle. She loves pub trivia, roller skating and pinball - although not all at the same time. Ky wants to use her experience to improve support for carers and people with disability, to ensure they are set up for success in every day life. Ky is available to be a guest on podcasts, write guest blogs, attend speaking engagements to present on podcasting, writing children's books, finding your tribe, resilience under difficult circumstances, overcoming diversity, advocating for your children and/or advocating for yourself, learning your self worth and owning your talent.
